Fire officials are investigating the cause of a Tuesday afternoon structure fire that destroyed a suspected unpermitted structure in Puna.
Responding to the 3:07 p.m. Tuesday alarm, firefighters arrived at Paniolo Street to find a 200-square-foot wooden structure engulfed in flames, according to the Hawaii Fire Department.
According to the fire department, the structure appeared to be “unpermitted and uninsured.”
No occupants were at the scene at the time firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported.
